Tony La Russa is in as the new manager and a few other additions have been made with the signings of Adam Eaton and Liam Hendriks. There is a talented core in place and the front office has reportedly decided to bring back a former first-round pick to see if he can salvage his career.Pittsburgh Pirates

In order to start the season about a month later than usual but finish about a week later than usual, the schedule would need to be compressed, with fewer off days and more doubleheaders. Anderson will battle for a spot in the Phillies’ 2021 rotation and, with that $4M price tag, likely has an inside track to make some starts. With Anderson, Matt Moore, Vince Velasquez, Spencer Howard, Ivan Nova and perhaps Ranger Suarez, the Phillies now have some depth for the final two rotation spots. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Phillies have two unsettled spots in their everyday eight – second base and center field. When it all shakes out, Jean Segura, unless he’s traded, could be the regular second baseman with Scott Kingery sliding into a super-utility role or getting time in center field. The Phils also have Adam Haseley and Roman Quinn capable of playing center field and there’s a possibility that Odubel Herrera will be invited to big-league camp and compete for the job. All of this could impact the makeup of the Phils’ bench.

Third baseman Kris Bryant has been the subject of trade talk for the past couple of years, mostly due to the fact that he’s owed a new contract at the end of this upcoming season. Ever since winning the 2016 NL MVP award and having a stellar 2017 campaign, Bryant wasn’t able to repeat said production (excluding 2019, which was a good year for him).Seattle Mariners
